A Lesson in Unconditional Love
Many times I have wondered, "What is Unconditional Love? If you pick apart the phrase, you can come up with... loving without any conditions, or how about fully loving, maybe, giving all you got loving, better yet, loving without any judgments whatsoever. It certainly seemed like a difficult emotion to have. You see, this other voice always seemed to get in the way when you just want to love.
It was November 2001, at 5 months pregnant when I gave birth and within the hour, said so long to my precious daughter. I had the honor and privilege to hold her tiny body next to my breast for that one hour and sadly watched her take her last breath. During that time, all I felt was love -- pure, deep, joyous love! I thought, what a beautiful creation she is -- so innocent, so pure, so amazing. I prayed so hard for her and I spoke to her as lovingly as I could. I wanted her to feel safe within that small moment of time we had together and to feel loved by me before she went home to God. Once she took her last breath, the pain I felt was just as deep as the love I was feeling. My heart had felt like it had been ripped into tiny pieces and I just wanted to go with her.
You see, I didn't understand then what my lesson in all this would be. All I could see and feel was that pain. Years later and after some very deep healings, prayer and meditation, I came to realize that there actually was a lesson for me in all of this. I truly experienced a mother's profound love for her child -- all you see and know is this innocent, pure loving being at the mercy of you and all you want to do or know how to do in that moment is LOVE that beautiful child. There were no other thoughts, except love, protection, kindness and nurturing.
This knowing has stayed with me and it is now just a reminder of how precious and innocent we all were (before our conditions were placed upon us) and how precious life really is. In those moments of despair... remember that we are love and are loved and most of all, we are to spread that love to others. Then I also think, if we were and if we all were loved in that way everyday, WOW, who and how would be today? What would our lives look like now, by remembering to always love no matter what.

Do You Dare to Be Known for Who you Are?
I often ask myself this question. Since I have practiced Reiki (which is very much apart of me) I noticed I wouldn't tell people that often exactly what I did. I would just say "healing" or energy work. Some people still don't understand or are afraid of Reiki because of the lack of knowledge or they think it's some religion. Over the years Reiki has gradually become somewhat "acceptable" or mainstream if you will.
Although Reiki has been re-discovered in Japan, recently I have been doing research and found something extraordinary! You see, Reiki has been around for thousands of years in Egypt. Although I was unable to uncover the depths of this history, because it was lost or smuggled out of Egypt, nonetheless, it has made a huge impact of "who I am" and why I am practicing Reiki. The name was not called Reiki, but rather "Sekh Em" which is the energy from the five elements -- earth, air, fire, water and spirit. It was used to heal the earth and it's inhabitants. It was not so much physical healing, but more individual awakening and enlightment. Further research has revealed to me various pictures of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses with their hands in Reiki position. This amazed me and immediately I felt this really close connection to it all.
All of this discovery has given me the power to be proud of what I do, to talk more about what I do with a confidence I didn't have before. More importantly, it has given me such a sense of connection and belonging. Yes, I can now "Dare to be Known for Who I am"! It's a beautiful practice and heck, my ancestors practiced it! I have been chosen to be this vessel of light to others and I welcome that in my heart and soul.

If Ya Don't Like the Station, Change the Channel
Who says we have to continue to live in a state of fear, lonliness, stuckness or whatever channel you are on that isn't working. Do you realize that WE have the ability to change our situations in a split second, or as long as it takes for a cloud to move in the sky.
You wonder how? Well, it can start with changing your thoughts. You can dig really deep and ask, "why do I feel this way?" and an answer will come. You can meditate on it, pray on it...you can even send it to Reiki and that energy can change or just do something totally out of your comfort zone... something you would NEVER do! What would life look like if we all took that approach?
Changing your thoughts can take us to highly evolving levels in our lives. I figure, if all those negative thoughts are creating an unwanted reality, then why not change them to a more positive thought and start living that reality...ya think!
Isn't it time to allow our lives to flow like a river and our hearts to beat like the thrill of decending on a roller coaster?
I believe the time is now.
I believe the time is now.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for reducing stress, relaxation and it promotes healing. The way Reiki is given is by the laying on of hands. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei, which means “Gods Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki, which is “life force energy.” So we can say that Reiki in essence is “spiritually guided life force energy!”
It has been my experience that Reiki has an energy all its own….it will go wherever it needs to go… such as your life, questions you may have may be revealed to you that you are supposed to know, or remembering who you are. For these reasons everyone can experience Reiki. It doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, because it is Divine, it’s being peaceful, it’s being relaxed, it’s being taken away to your place of stillness and love.
There are all types of feelings when someone is giving you a Reiki session, but for the most part you may feel this soothing, loving energy circulating throughout your body that is absolutely nurturing! Having a chance to relax for one hour and be taken to a place of peace, love and harmony can do wonders for your soul.
